An old poem ... and the original idea behind "View from the Edge"

The Edge
by Lyle Bateman

Take a look over the edge of sanity
Into the dark canyon below
swirling siren's song echoes in the mist
beckons from the blackest depths

But the cliff's edge view is superb
the terrain laid bare to
a general's eye, directing troops across
the intellectual landscape

Battles forged with great success
the spoils of war pile up
But the mists and echoes ever call
for a single mental misstep
